Most of the mobile applications in today’s market encourage people to focus on their devices – we want to encourage people to go out and explore with their devices!
CalQuest is the winning concept from Demola Mobile Challenge 2010 - 2011. The application is based on viewing a photograph of an unknown location each day and having the task of finding that place in your city as fast as you can - the rewards of succeeding include prizes, offers, beating your friends’ score and the overall enjoyment of the competition. This “calendar-like” format can be easily targeted to different markets through varying themes such as Christmas, fashion, sports and so on.
Our team aims to develop this concept into a fully functional mobile application. Differing from the original prototype, we have decided that instead of a native application for Nokia phones, a mobile web application is the best solution for this concept. The advantages considering the ease of updating and accessibility of the application were significant deciding factors.
Our project tasks include refining the concept, user interface design, programming, graphical design and content design as well as defining a preliminary business plan for the application. The current team consists of three core members working in Protomo and two programmers from the Demola side. By the end of the summer we hope to deliver CalQuest as ready-made as possible and hopefully publish it during the autumn.
We are looking for new partners who can bring new competence to the team.
